At any given period of human civilization, there have been more intelligent people than others. The Rishis of India were to my mind the most intelligent and intuitive; those who gave the world the value of ‘pi’ (Boudhayana Shulba Sutras), the seven notes of music, and termed the solar system as surya mandala ages before science could propose the helio-centric model, could not possibly be termed as ‘simple farmers’. In fact, even the Greek word helios comes from the Arsha (old Sanskrit/Girvan) word heli meaning Sun.
