Sawan Special: Lord Shiva is seen here, whenever there is lightening

Some distance away from Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu is situated the auspicious place of Bijli Mahadev.

This temple has been named as Bijli Mahadev’s temple as the place receives a lot of rainfall.  It is said that whenever during rainfall, lightening occurs; Lord Shiva takes that lightening on the Shivling and stops it from falling on the people.

This magic of Lord Shiva is very popular among people of this place.

Because Lord Shiva takes the lightening on himself and saves people, he is known as Bijli Mahadev here.

The rivers Byaas and Parvarti meet 10 kms away from Kullu.

Bijli Mahadev is situated on this mountain top. The two rivers meeting each here can be seen from here.

At the horizon of the rivers, the Himalaya is also seen.
