EXTREMELY IMPORTANT:
When I was studying 11 and 12 std, I had time to practice Krishna Consciousness. When I joined B. Pharm in another town, I am unable to do K.C properly as no ISKCON centre there. What to do?

I appreciate your interest in K.C right from 11 std (+1). Once we start K.C, we will miss something if we are unable to follow our regular K.C schedules. This is the greatness of K.C.
But, your case is not for serious worry. B.Pharm is just 3 years. After that you will be in some other city. So, there are chances for continuation of serious practice of K.C.
However, till you complete your B.Pharm you may follow these tips:
1. During all the week days, Just do two things. (i) Chant as much as possible daily (ii) Offer worship daily for 5 minutes to the Picture of Krishna keeping in the hostel room or home you are staying.
2. In addition to that, do not keep excessive association with the highly materialistic students. If there is any students who is calm and very serious in studies, and or who likes Krishna, associate with him.
3. Why do you feel that there is no ISKCON centre in this new area? Srila prabhupada himself is ready to be with you. He will give you the best association even in this new town, ie, Asansol. Don’t you understand? Just take from home atleast two books of Srila Prabhupada every month. Read those books atleast a few minutes daily or on week ends or whenever your heart longs for association of devotees. After completing those two books, bring another two books from home and read. By reading the books of Srila prabhupada, you can feel as if he himself is directly speaking to you. This is the speciality in the books of Prabhupada.
4. Sorry, I do not know how far Asansol is from Kolkotta. If it is within 60-80 kilometres, do the following action: You can once visit the ISKCON Kolkotta and inform the temple president to open a new NAMAHATTA centre in your new place Asansol by sending any experienced devotee on every saturday or sunday or any other convenient days. We are doing such events in remote places in Tamil nadu. Even ISKCON Kolkotta has that practice. So, request the temple for Namahatta centre. They may expect atleast 10 people to take part every time and some one may help them financially to bring Prasadam from Kolkotta till the Asansol centre develops.
5. If this too is not possible for you, you can associate with genuine sathsangha available in internet. For example, krishna.com, iskcondesiretree, our page Krishna and Bhagavad Gita, and a few genuine Krishna pages/ groups that follow official ISKCON, if they do not allow and certainly delete nonsense contents/ links posted by followers in their pages. In brief, follow the sources that maintain strict atmosphere for learning about Krishna. However, take extra care in mingling with the devotees in internet because even a bad or tricky person/ criminal can act as if he is a serious devotee by using some general terms used by devotees. Some others promote some sites only for earning money. So, never donate to anyone unless you see them directly/ personally.
6. A caution while using internet: Try to avoid using instant messaging sites that uses your mobile number to send videos/ messages, to interact with the devotees in internet.. Never publicize your personal mobile number in internet unless you use that for earning from your customers.
7. Whenever you get some free week end, visit the Kolkotta ISKCON temple by travelling. Try to visit there atleast once a month.
8. If you have the phone numbers of some good devotees of ISKCON, Kolkotta , you can discuss about Krishna over mobile from your hostel atleast once a week, preferebly in holidays. This voice connection may recharge your K.C attachment.
By following these tips, you can try to compensate to much extent, the absence of ISKCON centre in your new small town Asansol. Do this for 3 years. After completing studies, you are again free to visit temples every week.
Hope these tips helps you. This may help many hostel students who are not having any ISKCON centres near their college hostel.
CONCLUSION:
I humbly request the ISKCON, Kolkotta devotees available in this page to explore the possibilities to open a small Sathsanga through a Namahatta centre in or near Asansol if it is near Kolkotta. If they are not in the management, they may inform the temple authorities about this. Otherwise, if Asansol is far away from Kolkotta, the nearby another ISKCON temple may take this responsibility. Having a Namahatta centre near colleges may help today’s youth to lead a K.C life right from their young age.
