Security stepped up at Sabarimala

Sabarimala: Security has been further tightened in Sabarimala temple on account of the 22nd anniversary of Babri mosque demolition day on Saturday. The inspections at Pamba and sannidhanam are being carried out by teams headed by ADGP K Padmakumar.

The issuance of special passes for darsan at Pamba and sannidhanam has been temporarily stopped. Pilgrims are asked to follow the queue system strictly. The employees serving in eateries and other business establishments on the temple premises are being monitored. 

Pilgrims are asked to switch off their mobile phone and they are also subjected to thorough security check using metal detector. Teams of Thunder Bolt, Armed police, Karnataka police, NDRP also have also been deployed.

Compared to the last few days, the temple witnessed low crowd on Friday. The additional security check will be continued till Sunday. -mathrubhumi.com
