THE FOUNDATION
A beautiful pic from the net. Shiva is seated in an abyss, a vertical cave. He appears to be covered with some mud.The picture evokes some very serious meditative thoughts:
Shiva is layered with Mud, but It does not alter His concentration. It is as though He has deepened His Dhyana , His eyes closed in the famous Meditation mudra. He is at the bottom of a pit, It is as if He has dived deep within His soul, which is the soul of the world. We notice a lotus and see that Shiva is seated on it. This conveys that even in the middle of worldly dross he is throned firmly in His spiritual vibration. Even if He appears to be at a bottom level, He is the foundation of all things, the 'underlying principle" of all that comes into the world! Thus too, He is the best Keeper of His own world. Always there to meditate for the welfare of all things. Aum Namah Shivaye!
