Mantra Meditation

Mantra Meditation, The easiest way to practice meditation for people who have trouble staying focused (which is exactly what meditation trains). This method works well for people with too active of minds. The first few times you try, it may feel like a big struggle but that passes and over time the mind calms down and gets better and better at staying focused. A focused mind is a calm powerful mind. People with unfocused minds waste a lot of misdirected metal energies going in all sorts of random directions. The conscious mind is a tool, it should only be active when it is needed. When the conscious mind is not over active then more powerful deeper parts of the mind are able to make themselves known. This is the major point of any spiritual or religious practice, to bring those more powerful deeper levels of mind in union with the conscious mind. These deeper more powerful levels of mind are the divine within. All people have this divine mind, but when the conscious mind is not under control those deeper parts of mind remain hidden, like a dirty mirror. In truth when we worship any deity of any religion we are in fact worshipping ourselves, that part of us all which is inside each of us which is divine. That divine part is all one, connected to everyone. Even deity worship is a form of yoga, called bhakti yoga, it's aim being the union of the deity nature within with the conscious self. The most common way to do mantra meditation is to use a set of prayer beads. Most of these have 108 beads. You use these to keep count of how many times you chanted the mantra. One time around is one round. As a beginner one round is a good starting point. Meditation on mantras with beads is a very universal practice.! Peace ~ Shivoham Shivoham!
