In Hindu mythology or cosmology the closest to the sheer energy of light is Lord Shiva. Shiva signifies a continuous energy of transformation — like light.
Shiva is a continuous chariot of benevolence — like light. He always tries to help people and bring them important gifts, such as yoga.
Shiva is so loving, immediate and altruistic. When compared with Western mythology, Shiva is like Prometheus. Indeed they seem to be brothers. Both are so compassionate and are ready to suffer for common benefit.
Light and Shiva are palpable manifestations to us of the qualities of gods, which are in the world, immanent like us, and not only as specks of our imagination.
