ROLE MODELS IN SOCIETY :
In every society, there are those who are looked upon as role models. In the above shloka from the Gita, Krishna states that whatever is practised by leaders of society, is followed by people who are part of that society. So, with ideal role models, and people following those role models, you get an ideal society. Conversely, if the leader is corrupt, the entire fabric of society is likely to get corrupted.
