"Whenever there is decay of righteousness and a rise of unrighteousness, then I manifest Myself. For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the wicked and for the establishment of righteousness, I am born in every age, era after era” ~ Bhagwat Geeta

"Whenever there is decay of righteousness and a rise of unrighteousness, then I manifest Myself. For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the wicked and for the establishment of righteousness, I am born in every age, era after era” ~ Bhagwat Geeta
We currently live in the Kaliyuga era, where greed, immorality, lust and moral degradation is at its peak. As we move along the eras, human conscientiousness and moral values decay with time and creates imbalance of good and bad in the universe. When the weight of evil surpasses that of good in each of these eras, Lord Vishnu re-incarnates himself in accordance to the demand of the times to restore balance and truth on Earth. The Kaliyuga era is said to have started around 3102 BC and we are currently about 5000 years into it. They are sum total 64 kalas(skills) that Lord Vishnu possesses. Rama was born with 12 kalas, Krishna with 16 kalas. Kalki avatar will manifest with all 64 kalas. The worse the times of the era, the more powerful is the manifestation of the avatar from Lord Vishnu. The word Kalki itself means ‘eternity’, ‘white horse’ or ‘destroyer of filth’. Religious texts called the Puranas foretell that Kalki will come atop a white horse with a drawn blazing sword, destroy the reigning evil, darkness and usher in the era of Satyuga of truth and goodness again. Kalki means 'destroyer of foulness’, or ‘destroyer of ignorance’. Kalki is also an abbreviation to the word Nishkalanka that means ‘immaculate’ or ‘without fault’.
"Lord Kalki will appear in the home of the most eminent brahmana of Shambhala village, the great souls Vishnuyasha and his wife, the pure of thought Sumati." Srimad Bhagavatam.
The Agni Purana predicts that at the time of his birth, evil kings will feed on the pious. Kalki will be born son of Vishnuyasha in the mythic Shambhala. He will have Yajnavalkya as his spiritual guru.
The Padma Purana describes that Kalki will end the age of Kali and kill all mlecchas. He will gather all brahmanas and propound the highest truth, bringing back the ways of dharma that have been lost, and removing the prolonged hunger of the Brahmin.
As per Kalki Purana, Sri Vishnu will be reborn as Kalki to a Brahmin family in the city of Shambhala.
In all the scriptures there is mention of city of Shambhala. Now this place is confusing as there is village Shambhala in Uttar Pradesh that is about 160km distant from the city of Delhi. Shambhala is also a mythical kingdom hidden somewhere in inner Asia. Shambhala is also a town in Himachal Pradesh. Whatever be the location, all the Hindu texts such as the Vishnu Purana mention the village Shambhala as the birthplace of Kalki, the final incarnation of Vishnu who will usher in a new Golden Age.! Jai Kalki!
Om Namo Narayana ~ Jai Shri Vishnu ~ Jai Bholenath!
